CHILDREN'S BOOKS IN THE LIBRARY OF THE VORONTSOV PALACE IN ODESSA

The article deals with children's books as a part of the Vorontsov collection conserved in the Scientific Library of theOdessaNationalMechnikovUniversity. The books (mainly in Russian, French and English) were acquired by M. S. Vorontsov for his son Semyon Mikhaïlovich (1823-1882) who continued the family traditions of Bibliophilia.
Special attention is paid to the English-language literature, which dominated in this «Little Library». Different kinds of publications for children, released in Britainin the first third of the 19th century are treated. The author also attempts to provide the information on a complex of owners’ recordings and dedicatory inscriptions as well as bookplates left on the books, which can help, follow the ways of book acquisition.
